Conveniently located in the heart of Southlakes Housing Estate, Insight Early Learning Southlakes, Dubbo is a purpose-built Centre creating a community of learners where play is at the heart of the curriculum. The light-filled Centre has been designed to stimulate children’s natural curiosity and sense of exploration.
We are thrilled to announce that we are now part of the Dubbo community – a rapidly growing community rich in culture, history and nature. The Centre’s Nature Program focuses on creating environments that will provoke learning and provide opportunities for children to learn and grow through play.

Simone Trickey,
Centre Director
Meet Simone Trickey With over 20 years of experience in early childhood education, Simone brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and warmth to her role as Centre Director at Insight Early Learning Southlakes.
Simone holds an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management, along with qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Business Administration. Her career has been built on a strong foundation of creating inclusive, nurturing environments where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to grow.
She is passionate about building genuine connections with families and leading teams with empathy, integrity, and a shared vision for high-quality, play-based learning. She believes that when children and educators feel a sense of belonging, meaningful learning and growth naturally follow.
Simone is excited to be part of the Insight Early Learning community and is committed to making a positive impact every day.
Our Classrooms
We have a total of 5 classrooms, each tailored to meet the unique developmental needs of different age groups:
Lorikeets
These classrooms are designed for infants aged 0 to 15 months, providing a safe and stimulating environment for our youngest learners.
Cockatoos
These rooms cater to children aged 15 months to 2 years, offering a space for toddlers to explore, learn, and grow.
Emus
These classrooms are tailored for children aged 2 to 4 years, providing an environment that encourages social interaction and development.
Kookaburras
Specifically designed for children aged 3 to 4 years, this room fosters the development of essential skills and social connections.
Eagles
Our Eagles classroom is dedicated to children aged 4 to 5 years, helping them prepare for their transition to school with an engaging and age-appropriate curriculum.

Where are you located?
Insight Early Learning Southlakes is located in Dubbo, NSW, and proudly welcomes families from across the Dubbo region, including Brocklehurst, Minore, Wongarbon, Toongi, Terramungamine, Rawsonville, Benolong, Ballimore, and Geurie.
How many licensed places are at this service?
Southlakes is licensed for 108 children
Do you offer a holiday discount?
Yes, we offer a 20% holiday discount on your regular fees for up to four weeks per calendar year. The discount must be taken in blocks of at least one week.
Do you offer part-time or casual bookings?
Yes, we offer casual bookings that families can manage via the Xplor Home app, as well as permanent bookings with a minimum of one day per week.
Do you provide nappies, wipes, and formula?
We provide nappies and wipes for all children. Parents supply their own formula or breastmilk to ensure your child continues with the brand and feeding routine they’re most familiar with.
Will I get updates about my child’s day?
Absolutely. Daily updates are available through the Xplor Home app, including meals, sleep times, nappy changes, and learning experiences.
Do you run special events?
We host two annual Open Days featuring family activities, food, and giveaways, as well as Twilight Tours and an end-of-year celebration with graduation and Christmas festivities.
What happens if my child is absent?
Fees apply if your child is absent due to sickness or public holidays. Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) scheme, each child receives 42 allowable absences per financial year. Families must notify the centre if their child is absent.
Do you provide meals?
Yes. Our services provide nutritious, freshly prepared meals each day, including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea.
We cater for allergies, intolerances, and cultural requirements.
How do I enrol my child?
You can submit an enquiry or enrolment request directly through our website. Our team will be in touch to arrange a tour, discuss your child’s needs, and support you through the enrolment process.
Is your service eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?
Yes. All Insight Early Learning services are approved for CCS, which reduces the out-of-pocket fees for eligible families.
Do you offer orientation sessions?
Yes, we provide orientation sessions to help your child settle in and feel comfortable before their official start date.
