Assistant Director

The Role

In this role, you must show a connection with and willingness to advocate for children and Insight Early Learning's philosophy WISDOM, INNOVATION, SUSTAINABILITY and EQUITY. The role requires a strong leader to work closely with our Director, Educational Leader, Area Manager and wider team supporting the daily operations of the service. We have a big vision – we want to exceed the National Quality Standards and ensure a quality care and education program for children is being offered. We are looking for a leader who will actively work towards this vision with the team.

A regular day in this role will involve:

  • Supporting the Director on the management and operations of the service.

  • Providing assistance in the onboarding and induction of new team members.

  • Maintaining administrative procedures including attendance records, purchasing equipment and resources.

  • Communicating with families and carers.

  • Supporting the innovative educational program development involving observations, planning and implementing learning experiences to promote children’s development, evaluating, and keeping appropriate records.

  • Working closely with the Director and Ed Leader to support duties for educators and oversee the delivery of the educational program.

  • Supporting the Director and working closely with the Insight EL leadership Team to maintain the centre’s Quality Improvement Plan.

  • Proactively setting high standards for staff and centre performance by nurturing staff morale and promoting positive behaviours.

  • Driving a positive and respected working environment.

What you will bring:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role

  • Demonstrated experience in reaching targets and KPIs whilst adhering to company policies and procedures

  • Somebody who loves celebrating - occasions, achievements, and life - there's so much fun to be had celebrating with children!

  • A positive and professional demeanour with the ability to mentor and coach your team to excellence.

  • Strong commitment to quality education and care for the children, families, and the team.

  • A great communicator (verbal and written) who wants to make positive relationships with the families, the team and the community.

  • A willingness to go beyond the call of duty and the ability to use initiative to continuously improve.

  • Experience using Qikkids software, OWNA and Humanforce is advantageous but not essential

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Early Childhood from a recognised University (as approved by ACECQA); or a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)

  • A demonstrated knowledge of the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework.

  • Current & approved First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management Certificates

  • A current Working with Children Check

  • Completion of Child Protection Training that is current and valid

  • Proven experience in a similar role

  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
