Our Philosophy

The Insight Early Learning philosophy is anchored by 4 principles, embodied by W.I.S.E..

Wisdom

At Insight Early Learning our teams deeply value community, ensuring that our curriculum and practices seamlessly connect with the wisdom shared by our children, families, community and educators. We believe that every voice, from our children and families to educators and the wider community, brings a unique perspective to the educational journey. We value the continuity and richness of local Wisdom shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and use this wisdom to guide us. We are guided by the wisdom learnt from the past and use this to inform our future. Our commitment is to learn from and integrate this collective wisdom into our educational program and practices.

We respect children's innate sense of curiosity and view children as capable and competent learners. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to harness the power of play, nurturing growth, exploration, engagement, and creativity.  In our pedagogical practice, we advocate for an approach that encourages children to learn from positive experiences, promoting resilience, and fostering a culture that values a growth mindset.

Innovation

Insight Early Learning’s mission is to be at the forefront of innovation in early childhood education, preparing children for a lifetime of growth and learning. We are dedicated to coaching and mentoring our educators' professional learning and fostering learning communities that empower them to integrate innovative educational approaches into their practices.

Encouraging a culture of reflective practice is fundamental to our philosophy. We support educators to think deeply about their practices and engage with diverse perspectives, leading to Innovative pedagogical decisions and actions.

Our ethos embraces a shared leadership model that emphasises the collective responsibility and professional accountability for the learning, development, and well-being of children. This innovative leadership approach empowers every team member to share their professional knowledge and skills, contributing to the collective effort to provide the best possible outcomes for children, families, and colleagues in their respective settings.

We recognise the complex and dynamic nature of early childhood education, we actively seek guidance from emerging ideas put forth by industry leaders. This ongoing commitment ensures that our practices remain aligned with the latest insights and trends, reinforcing our position at the forefront of Innovation.

Sustainability

We are committed to supporting children’s profound sense of responsibility towards sustainability. We embrace sustainability as encompassing the three pillars of sustainability which are intertwined: Environmental sustainability which focuses on nurturing and protecting our natural world, Social sustainability which revolves around fostering inclusions and promoting respectful and fair communities, and economic sustainability which refers to practices that support economic development.

We cultivate children's understanding of their rights and responsibilities as integral members of both local and global communities. We uphold children's agency and their entitlement to actively participate in decisions that impact their lives. This is achieved through meaningful and relevant educational experiences that foster a sense of belonging and civic engagement.

Equity

At the heart of Insight lies a commitment to equity. Insight Early Learning actively fosters inclusive relationships and advocates for social justice. We aim to establish an environment where every child is valued and respected, irrespective of their background, abilities, or identity. Embracing the distinctiveness of each child and their families, we individualise our approach to cater to their specific needs and backgrounds.

Our decision-making processes are guided by the UN rights of a child, and ensure that we uphold these rights. We are dedicated to providing a safe environment is reflected in our adoption of the child-safe standards and strategies that recognise and honour the diverse and unique identities and experiences of our children, families, educators, and community.

Central to our philosophy are the people and our educators are the foundation, nurturing and empowering children to thrive and prosper. Our teams are well-versed in fostering children's sense of belonging, building secure attachments, and supporting overall well-being.
