Thank you for coming to commemorate ANZAC Day with us at Insight Early Learning Throsby this morning. In line with current social distancing restrictions we held an 'Over the Fence' Anzac ceremony with families attending on the parkland behind our centre.
Stefano started off by reminding us that these ceremonies help us remember not just people from long ago but all who have served, or given their lives, during war.
Our children have worked hard to make a banner that was hung on our outside wall and our visitors gathered respectfully on the outside of the service.
We spoke about why we use the symbolism of the bright red flower – the poppy to remember those who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice.
Our minute of silence was punctuated with the urgings and fidgeting of our children. It was a beautifully poignant moment in time.
