A HANDS-ON LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Our Bush Kinder program is offered to children aged 3- 5 years and provides a hands-on learning environment where children can investigate, explore, and connect with nature.

Our team of early childhood educators develops our Bush Kinder program and qualified university teachers to ensure it delivers an age-appropriate, engaging, child-led outdoor learning program.

We aim to provide the children with the opportunity to engage in the Bush Kinder program at least once a month, as research shows the many benefits for children who spend more time outdoors in nature.

"Nature pedagogy is an understanding of our sense of belonging to the land, our sense of working with nature. There's a pedagogical shift when you move outside into nature, learning with nature, not just teaching about it". Claire Warden

This program is fundamental to developing children's ecological awareness, respect, love and profound connections to their land. The learning that takes place at Bush Kinder guides most of our program back at the centre as we extend children's learning through research, inquiry and questioning. Over time we scaffold children's knowledge and learn collaboratively, rather than 'teach'.

Our Bush Kinder program helps to prepare children for the next stage of their lives as it fosters children's love of learning. Group sharing and listening are essential aspects of our Bush Kinder program, as our educators promote respectful relationships and nurture social development skills.
